Wayne Sadler 568 Posted February 12, 2014 Part of the joy of observing birds for me is the tendency to projectfeelings and meaning onto their actions and expressions. I know mostof the time it is just my imaginings but it is a fun way to see andlend form to an image. Comments and critique appreciated. Link to comment
schouwman 0 Posted February 12, 2014 Wayne! great time !beautiful expression of the bird that does not agree with each other, the wings open strengthen the atmosphere of photographs.very nice soft colors-sharp-and composition. very nice work. best regards Janegbert Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 568 Posted February 12, 2014 Patsy,Thanks for the kind words. Waiting for the moments in the cold weather was rough. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 568 Posted February 12, 2014 Janegbert,Your kind comments are much appreciated. I knew I was projecting but I felt the two birds were flirting as if in a mating dance. Link to comment
cegeiss 6 Posted February 13, 2014 Wayne,I like the warm light in this image, buy I preferred the more abstract composition and smooth background of one of your other images over this one.Christoph Link to comment
Off_The_Wall_Photography 0 Posted February 13, 2014 Very nice capture and rendering but the cut off feet is a major detraction for me. Link to comment

Wayne Sadler 568 Posted February 13, 2014 Christoph,Thanks. This is a little more busy than the other(s) in this series. I think I was attracted to the story I read into it. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 568 Posted February 13, 2014 Kenneth,Thanks. I agree the cut off feet bugs the heck out of me, but the alternative composition was even worse. I really appreciate your observation. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 568 Posted February 13, 2014 Radu,Thanks for visiting and commenting. Sometimes we think we understand an image and that understanding (accurate or not) helps us to compose and process. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 568 Posted February 13, 2014 Ruud,Thanks for the kind comments. I think sometimes photographing birds is like street photography - we are looking for moments, expressions, the interplay of things. Except I think street photography requires the brain to act or react much more quickly to see the moment. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 568 Posted February 13, 2014 Bill,Thanks very much for commenting. As you can see I had to make compromises in this composition. Except for the cut off feet, the compromises seemed to work out OK. Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted February 17, 2014 I'm pretty sure these are Seagulls, and I have always found it most interesting to watch them, especially on the beach. They seem to be very territorial, at least when 'food' is around. I've also had the pleasure of being 'shat upon' more than once by these lovely birds, but they say that is supposed to be 'lucky'. I really like how you captured two of them with their wings in the air. Was it cold out???? The others seem to be huddled together. It is a very 'calming' scene' and quite beautiful Wayne. I am glad to hear you enjoyed this time with the birds. A lovely series of images.kind regards, Gail Link to comment
