Wayne Sadler 570 Posted February 12, 2014 I went to the lake the other day testing out a new lens when I spied afellow photographer. Of course there was an immediate rapport so Iwas comfortable with telling him that he knew we both must be trulyobsessed to be out photographing birds in 17 degree weather. I’d liketo think he was a little more obsessed than me, because when I gotthere he had already exhausted two batteries and his third was runninglow. Comments and critique appreciated. Link to comment
cegeiss 6 Posted February 12, 2014 Wayne, this is a great image. Good timing to get the landing bird, great composition having it there between the other three. the one on the left looks a bit annoyed :-)Christoph Link to comment

Wayne Sadler 570 Posted February 12, 2014 Christoph,Thanks for the kind comments. I had in mind to focus on moments in flight against the birds on a railing. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 570 Posted February 12, 2014 Radu,Thanks. It was not until processing and particularly deciding on a frame that I saw the possibility of the "line". Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 570 Posted February 12, 2014 Patsy,Thanks. This appears to be a place where people often come to feed these birds. I thinks they do perform a little for their meal. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 570 Posted February 12, 2014 David,Thanks very much for the kind comment. I was surprised that I could wait at all in the frigid temperatures, but the birds are mesmerizing in flight. I was pleased with the image but it was not until I recognized "the line" that I saw it as unique. Link to comment

Wayne Sadler 570 Posted February 12, 2014 Laurent,That is a big compliment - much appreciated. I could have watched these birds all day if I wasn't freezing every part of my body. Don't know how you do it. Link to comment

DGorinstein 20 Posted February 13, 2014 Very nice and balanced composition. Bird photographs have become so commonplace that it is truly difficult to produce something different and eye-catching, and this one certainly accomplishes this and much more. Congratulations.DG Link to comment
