There is an image in my 2013 Flowers Folder that I had printed out in

13x19 before Christmas and it turned out very well. I drifted towards

this folder today because the image lifts my Spirits, reminding me of

all that is GLORIOUS about Summer. While the day was very hot,

humid, with brilliant sun, the protection of the Greenhouse roof

helped me forget the hot sun overhead. I recall my delight when I

returned home at how beautiful the Lilies turned out. I decided to use

the image to see what would become of it if I tried an Abstract

Transformation. I was surprised to find a figure in the middle that

reminded me of a 'Tribal Island Prince' (hence the Title). Brilliantly

coloured images can transform into some very interesting designs.

At the moment I am contemplating the terrible storm that is

threatening the U.S. and hope, somehow, the storm is not as bad as

predicted. Abstracts of this nature are always like a 'Mini Mental

Health Break' during the Cold Months of Winter!! (more info

under 'Details' Tab, I hope you enjoy this one, kind regards, Gail)

Gail, as always your post-processing is great.  Thanks for sharing this (especially today).  We have had sub-freezing temps, dreary skies, and a winter mix falling all day in south Texas.  Forecast for the weekend is upper 70's.

Gail,  Hi.  I am always blown away by your creativity.  How did you create this transformation?  I am also impressed by the way that your discription of the image and of your thinking and feelings are conveyed in this image. The image is quite abstract, even a bit surreal.  I don't think the image would be as meaningful without your explanation.  I see a kaleidoscope image here as well.  Best to you Gail.  Perhaps you are the Garden Princess.  Larry

I saw that snow had fallen in Texas, and was quite surprised (Dallas I think). I think I heard that the Gulf Air had something to do with it all, and you are closer to the Gulf. I really feel for the folks up Virginia way and all States in the path of the Storm. Hopefully your weekend forecast will come true Bill, I sure hope so!!! We might get one day of 0c degrees this week. Yesterday in the early morning the temp was -25c,(with windchill) brrrr. Cold today as well. When Jim took Abbey for her walk, her feet came up pretty quick. The Windchill was about -14c when he left. I truly don't know how people live where it is a lot colder!! But human beings have a way of adapting if they have to!!!

I am wishing for warmer days for you!!! kind regards, Gail

Hi there. I wouldn't go as far as the 'Garden Princess', my goodness, just look at the Prince!! Thanks for the chuckle!!! This is not difficult, just time consuming, thus why I say my 'mind' gets more involved in the composition. Your very encouraging remarks are always good to hear Larry. I never know how these images will be received!!

I hope you and yours are all safe and warm!!! :)Gail

I knew this was yours at first look.  :-)  This kaleidoscopic symphony of colors is just one of those images you get lost in.  It's so beautiful.....and yes, uplifting and cheerful......something we all need after this brutal winter.

Beautiful Gail, love the kaleidoscope of colors here. Has a stained glass window effect too.!!    AJ

This has a lovely shimmering quality as if we were inside some precious jewel, perhaps a sapphire, looking outward through the refracted light.

I can see immediately the figure that you allude to, an almost Darth Vader meets Buddha like figure that sits cross legged amongst the glistening majesty of his imperial throne room.

It is indeed a great escape from reality and a real tonic on a wet and windy winters day!

Compliments & Best Regards

Kathy B, Alberto, Ruud, Patsy, Gregory & Verena, MANY THANKS to each of you for expressing your encouragement about how creative and beautiful this final result was, I am truly grateful.

  • William - I know this kind of Art is not 'your cup of tea', but still you encourage me in this type of endeavour, for that I am so grateful!!
  • AJ - So appreciative of your input and like many others you see the Kaleidoscope of colour, your encouragement is appreciated!
  • Christal - You are so intuitive, and I have come to know that you recognize my work, so glad that this one cheered you up!! Hope you've been enjoying a good visit with your 'granbabe'. They may have left by now?
  • Jack - I can see how you would see the 'jewel' effect in this composition, I didn't notice the Sapphire myself till you mentioned it, I should have, it is my 'birthstone'!!
  • Dom - It is all done basically with different parts of the Transform Tool, and Layer Blending Modes, takes patience, but is fun.
  • Jim - Wow, I never saw the elephant till you mentioned it!! Sincere thanks for your insight!
  • Lester - You remarks always encourage and inspire me to do better, I so appreciate your time taken to visit!
