Must be viewed larger to get true color. North Beach in San Francisco

has a variety of avante garde buildings, street scenes, interesting

shops and eateries, and coffee cafes. I captured this image and the

next one just as dusk was overtaking the afternoon. Your comments

are most appreciated. Thanks in advance to taking the time to

comment. Larry

I really love the mood and atmosphere of this scene.  It's so good to see an artists imagination let loose on a building like this, and although we all have very different tastes I think this buildings artwork makes a refreshing change from the very cold clinical concrete and glass structures that seem to be so prevalent these days.  The later posting that allows a closer view is also excellent, and allows a better of the intricate artwork. But this one for me encapsulates the hustle and bustle and gives a better understanding of where the music lives!

I wonder if you entered these in current PN competition? If not you should!

Compliments & Best Regards

Hi Alf,  Thanks for looking at this image.  I don't have a clue about how to find an appropriate PN competion to enter.   I liked the image for the same reasons you do.  The North Beach neighborhood in San Fransisco has a real artsy, left over hippie like culture.  I was simply out for a walk with a point and shoot.  It was tough to frame these shots as both pedestrian and auto traffic was too intense to allow time to set up a shot.  Thanks for your compliments.  Larry

Larry, if you click on your Photo Admin Tab, you will see where it says 'Enter this image in a Photo Contest' there is a drop down box to see what Contests are on at the moment. You just click on which one you wish to choose. I think Alf is probably talking about the 'Style' Contest. :)
