The area within the wharf gets ripples from trying to freeze while

fighting the wave action.Thank you for your comment-Laurent

Laurent, I love your winter scenes. They are so unlike I have ever seen myself - although this no doubt happens up in the northern parts of Japan. AG

Thank you so much;I,as anyone taking these shots in sub-zero temperatures really appreciate getting such kind comments as it makes up for the frozen fingers and jammed shutters....Wish you some Happy Holidays!

Looks like frozen waves and gold grass in foreground is a nice contrast, indeed is interesting phenomenon.

Hi, I like it overall but consider had you left the grass out altogether it would of made a great abstract, had you just shot the ice I think it would have been much more dynamic. In my opinion the grass and background add nothing to the image but a distraction. I'm not here to cause offence and I don't think it's bad but I would of focused on the ice alone.

Thank you kindly. This was a good time to take this before we are overtaken by the snow;my thought was to show the little bit of grass resisting winter and a spot of still open water result of the tide action.Glad you like!

You are totally right and maybe I should have parked this in another category.Truth is,I already have a very similar shot which I framed tighter and it is sitting in my Abstract folder. And don't worry.I don't scratch very easy;I am having fun here.Thank you for viewing and for the much appreciated observation.
