Handheld shot! For this type of shot, 100mm or so is best or the fish will be out of focus (unless you are very lucky!) IMHO!

Thanks for viewing/comments! ... a Uniquely type of shot that I found only

Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve would offer ... I don't go here often but I

have to go here for this type of shot. :-)

Thanks Joao! .. a lucky shot out of many .. many fail attempt (with a slower camera to boot) . The problem is to catch one with the fish shown well and sharp .

Fantastic image, i like the fish in midair and those droplets around, the red throat and the bag against the light are the icing on the pie, ciao Giangiorgio

Thanks S. Alireza!  It's very much aim and shoot and get lucky at this place. Of course, a bit of attention has to be paid to lighting, framing ... :-)

Aloha and Mahalo Dom! Yes, I love the 5D Mark II, do wish for a Mark III to shoot bird though. With the price drop so much for a 5D II when I get a 5D III I am thinking of converting the 5D II to infared ...

Thanks Patrick! I shoot often and get lucky often  :-) . Actually, I go to specific place for certain type of shot and this place is great for this type of shot because there's a wooden bridge that goes across the water and the Pelican dive very close to the bridge to catch the fish hiding underneath and that present good opportunity for catching this type of shooting angle.

Grazie Mille Giangiorgio! Greetings from SoCal!

Thanks Luisa!

Thanks Greg and Verena!
