Andrew.  I like the black and white version for sure.  I think the model is beautifully lit and that the contrasting darker rock is a perfect contrast.  Compositionally it is cool and the model seems to fit in this space.  Dana...

I was hoping NOT to have seen the b & w image before commenting on this image and say, "I have not seen the b & w image but I am sure it is better."

OK! I have seen the b & w image and I am right. I would be genuinely pleased to hear your own opinion.

Fine work by the way! 5 for the colour. 6 at least for the b & w.

The color version has a color-look or a tinge of red. So I like much more the bw-version. The structures are much more structured and the contrasts give an interesting tension. hen Ry

I concur with the previous comments, the B & W version is more pleasing to the eye.  But I wouldn't rule out the colour version, as it conveys  a whole different message.

Agree Alf that looking this two same photo the message to me is different from first look, probably visual impact is what in my brain has for each one a different perspective. If I must chose I do for bw that is a bit in front of color version.

Hen, Maurizio, Alf and Radu,

Thank you for your visit and comments. The reason I posted the color picture was indeed a very different mood. It is more representative of the feelings one gets once visiting Valley of Fire park, one of my favorite places. Not just for pictures but simply to admire.
