The Choctaw Nation was a tribe of farmers who lived in what is now the

southeastern U.S. until the federal government forcibly removed most

tribal members in 1830 to Southeastern Oklahoma in what became known

as the “Trail of Tears.”

I really love this portrait - the colours are beautifully balanced and the has a very 'full' and complete feeling to it. The expression on the girl's face too is wonderfully captured - kind of sad and reflective. I wonder what is going through her mind? First rate portrait. Regards, Erik

Beautiful portrait. Couldn't have planned or executed a painting any better than this - selection of hues and tonal arrangement and placement of forms.  Excellent work, Line.
