Landrum Kelly 64 Posted September 17, 2013 This was my first attempt at a night time shot in the mountains. Altitude here was just under three thousand feet; altitude below wasabout one thousand feet. Comments welcome. --Lannie Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted September 18, 2013 Thanks, people. It was fun--and a dry cold front came through just after this, while I was still up there on the Parkway! Joy, joy, joy! After one of the most humid late summers that I can remember, it was nice. The great thing about being alone in the mountains is that it gives one some perspective on our lives in "civilization"--although, let's face it, the Blue Ridge Parkway is hardly "wilderness." Next time: Shining Rock Wilderness at night. Maybe. --Lannie Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted September 18, 2013 For anyone who might be interested, here is a LIVE WEBCAM VIEW of Cold Mountain in Shining Rock Wilderness--a couple of hours west of where this picture was made. --Lannie Link to comment
cyanatic 0 Posted September 18, 2013 Lannie -- Very cool! This pleases both the eye and the emotion (for lack of a better word ... it just gives me a good feeling, maybe even a touch melancholy, but in a good way). Hope that makes sense! Link to comment

dianedh 7 Posted September 23, 2013 Another winner! This has to be my favorite of the night shots in this series. Link to comment
