This was my first attempt at a night time shot in the mountains. Altitude here was just under three thousand feet; altitude below wasabout one thousand feet. Comments welcome.

Thanks, people.  It was fun--and a dry cold front came through just after this, while I was still up there on the Parkway!  Joy, joy, joy!  After one of the most humid late summers that I can remember, it was nice.

The great thing about being alone in the mountains is that it gives one some perspective on our lives in "civilization"--although, let's face it, the Blue Ridge Parkway is hardly "wilderness."

Next time: Shining Rock Wilderness at night.

Maybe.

Lannie -- Very cool!  This pleases both the eye and the emotion (for lack of a better word ... it just gives me a good feeling, maybe even a touch melancholy, but in a good way).  Hope that makes sense!
