Hi Tore,

Quite a fashion statement, indeed.

A very nice presentation with the subtle tones used to feature the attractive model.

Best Regards my friend, Mike

Hi Tore,

Nice to see you posting again!

Superb light, tones and details as always. Stunning model. And above all excellent "B&W" work! By the way how did you reach that special metallic look?

Regards,

Alain

Thanks for your comments, I´m finished in India now after a longer time than expected so I will try to anticipate a bit more here again :)

The BW recipe for this one is simple but it contains some steps.

Change mode to LAB colour.

Trash the A and B channels (colors) now you only got the L channel as an Alfa channel.

Go to mode again and chose greyscale.

Go to mode again and swop from greyscale to rgb (it is impossible to go direct from the alpha channel to rgb)

Tweak the contrast with a curve.

For some reason a blue background seem to work very good for this but I guess it’s only a question in finding the light value to make it work with any color.

Best regards Tore

a perfect greyscale photo, fine toning. Interesting receipe to get the tones. (I am a fan of the 3-Layer-separation). Congrats. hen Ry

A striking portrait that screams attitude, but from a beautiful young lady.  Whatever the process, the b/w results are superb... Mike

I love the casual feel to this photo even though her expression looks like she means business! Great job! I'm sure she loves this portrait; I know I would and if I had the proper studio lighting I might even try this one as a self-portrait (no one else to practice on). Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :)
