I have never even had a clear view of one of these wonderful creatures let alone been able to photograph one.

This is a wonderful photograph, excellent detail, clarity and composition! 

I have to agree with Rajat the lens is providing some first class results, of course it might also have something to do with the photographer behind the lens too : - )
