Having recently aquired a new (s/h) lens, it was off the the backyard for a tryout.

Not a particularly inspiring shot, yet one of interest in that Parrots are very social within their species but not with "strangers". So this shot is unusual as one of these would have immediately flown off at the arrival of the other. If that makes sense?

By all means leave a comment...........

It is an interesting looking shot......I wonder if there is an errm "pecking order"  : - )

It just occurred to me also have you tried a polarising filter, and if so, did it have any significant effect in reducing the glare?

Your Australian winter looks a lot more sunny than our British summer : - )

Nicely done Mate!"

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts on this image.

The pecking order....... I believe there would be one, but sometimes I relate to the 'sheer weight in numbers'.... if  (say) 10 pink 'n greys fly in to an area that has 4 (white) Corella's, the Corella's will leave... as an example.

I can't remember the specific scenario here, other than spotting the two "unlikely neighbours"........ if memeory serves, the white Corella took off.

That said, I was more concerned about the overall focus as the parrots were at different focal lengths which presented a "balancing trick"
in terms of presentation.......... hopefully I achieved reasonable success?

Best regards

Presentation is perfect, in as much as the diagonal positioning of the two birds in the frame.  As for sharpness of focus, it looks to me as if the lower bird looks sharper, but its difficult to be absolutely sure with the small image.

Cheers Grayham!

Checked on the sizing........ Wow, how did that happen? I silently grumble when others post small images........ didn't know I knew how to do it (smiles).
