Wonderful sky and great foreground detail in this shot. Well seen and executed, best wishes William.

Hi Tony-Beautifully captured with great colours.like the small setting sun soon to be below the horizon. It,s funny you always think the sun is setting, never that is a rising sun.The sharpness is great, the small pebbles in the lake are very clear & sharp.Best Regard Ross

The foreground driftwood are placed perfectly in the frame, and the interplay of the reflections and the subsurface stones are a delight to view!

Excellent work Tony!

Best Regards

Agree Alf,from this driftwood  the eyes are lead to the nice water reflection and color horizon line,I like too how upper part with clouds darkness and a spot of blue looks.

William, John, Alf, Radu, Maurizio, Juris, Thom, Ricardo and Zsolt:  many thanks for your comments and for those of you that also rated, that is also very much appreciated.

This location is my photographic School and it is where I practice and try and improve my skills. On this occasion, the water level was very low and there was little or no movement in the water and this is very unusual especially in Spring time. I did not have my water boots and water level allowed me to get closer to the driftwood. I mounted the camera on the tripod and proceeded to run off a couple of shots.

I already had this image in this folder and that one was getting an unusually high number of views compared to my other images and that is when I decided to try a '2nd upload' for rating purposes.

All the best to everyone, a big thanks and I have already started to visit your images.

Beautiful photo, Tony .... and one which I find reminiscent of an age when Man was not around to spoil things. It speaks to me of quiet serenity, peace & tranquility. Beautiful warm colors where water meets sky. Love the blue-gray shades and the quiet "monoliths" that "seem to float" on pedestals in the foreground. The 2 incongruous foreground shapes seem to "point" to something that we cannot see, but which stirs the imagination. Well done, as usual!

Colors, shapes, reflections, depth, perspective...it's all there! Congratulations Tony!

Jim and Pierre - your comments and ratings are appreciated.

A Photo.net member through private e-mail suggested a crop and I have placed it here for comment. This crop emphasizes the driftwood more than the original image. I would appreciate your input. Do you prefer the cropped version and would you rate it higher than the original?

Tony, they are indeed both beautiful photos, but I personally prefer the "original" .... I like the added dimension of "space" in reference to the photo "as a whole".
