my submission for May 2013 monthly project: monochrome

While the model isn't naked and all "private" parts of her body are covered,

intuitively, I intended to submit this photo for rating and critique in the nude

category, but then noted a rule that 'nude submissions are prohibited from

the monthly contest' (monochrome), which made me think it could just as

well be classified as a portrait...

...where would we be without our precious labels? ;-)

Indeed, in the enlarged version, one sees better the expression of the model and the fine treatment of the whites, the range of all the other grays being present too. A very pleasing and sensitive portrait, bravo. 

Glorious.  The tones create such wonderful textures in everything, her skin, hair, nails, the cloth of her shirt.  This is one of the better digital B&Ws I have seen in terms of tonal quality, it has a very film like quality to it.

A very beautiful portrait indeed and I like it very much!
