This is such s nice  colored bird.I went to Googl to read about it..  a real beauty ,and you are so well timed the exposure. so the details are very well seen  , as well as its pose and shallow Dof!

An excellent capture Ranga of this beautiful Woodpecker!! Great focus and detail, lovely DOF. I've not see one with those beautiful golden feathers on it's back before. Well done!

a little noisy, perhaps, but magnificent.  the blur is great, apart from the noise.  Weird that ''who are behind me?'' doesn't suffer the noise, even though the iso was higher.  j

Love the light, colors and clarity on this woodpecker. I really like this shot so congrats are in order. I rated it 6 and if, as per jamie`s comment,  the background was a little less noisy, I would have gone seven. If it was mine, I would create a layer, run the duplicate through a noise reduction program and then only apply the noise reduction to the background.

I did a quick job on it but I also know that some people like the grain/noise appearance.

All the very best,

The colours are so vivid and most appealing to the eye. I wonder how much if any saturation was added? Or was the photo taken with a touch of late evening sun painting the scene?

Either way the results look good. I think Tony come up trumps with his version, it retains the brightness and gets rid of the noise.

Compliments & Best Regards

Alf

Thanks a lot for your visit and observations.

No saturation was added. The shot was taken almost noon, with

light filtering from above on to the bird.

Best Regards
