The element of warmth is tangible and the radiant light and backlit grasses look lovely. I kind of wish there was a bench or chair rather than the square table in evidence, but thats purely a preference, and not a critiicism, as you have to make the best of whats available, and this you have done very well.

You seem to enjoy the challenge of shooting into direct sunlight, which of course brings its rewards when successful as shown here.

Compliments & Best Regards

Alf

The sunrays through the leaves really make this photo. The fall colours are beautiful on their own, but (as ever so often), the light in this photo really makes it stand out of the crowd.

And I'd like to add I much like the title as well. Not that to me a title is very vital to a photo, but when it's chosen well it certainly can help set the right atmosphere. I think in this case, the contradiction of blast and silence is very much spot-on. It represents the photo perfectly.

So much appreciation for positive feedbacks and nice comments. Thank you!

Alf, Yes, you are right. I am a fan of shooting into the light. Its somewhat most challenging and engaging both at the scene and at post processing stages. That tables actually are sitting chairs, although somewhat different and unique! I tried different compositions and also took some shots of self portration sitting there with different poses! But finally i prefered this one, empty and silent! Thank you again for your insightful words.

Wouter, One the reasons i like much the light ( usually a heavy one ) in my shots is that you mentioned. It stands out the picture and infuses meaning and difference. And about the name, its originally is the name of a film, back to 1961 directed by Allen Baron. This combination of words was really appropriate for this scene ( this place although calm and silent, is a historical complex, Abbas abad lake, situated near one of the northern cities of iran , Behshahr, and the complex served as the private refuge for Shah Abbas I of the Safavid dynasty. Behind this scene was the remains of the buildings all full of old stories and sounds... ). Thank you for your nice words,

My best regards,

Hamid.

Your play of lights gives so much impact to this photograph and the shadows it created provides excellent depth and dynamics to the image. Beautiful, Hamid. BR.

Afraid I don't have much to add to what has already been said; it's much easier to criticise a poor photo than an good one and this is fabulous. I particularly like how you've managed to keep colour and detail in the shadowed areas despite the harsh backlight.
