Yes I see what you mean about the softer feel and cooler tones, it has a real arctic flavour to it and as Mike says "Exudes Cold"

Hi Ross,

Thank you for sharing this beautiful shot, which lets me know about a phenomenon I'll never see at our latitudes. 

I admire your courage, getting out by such cold temperatures to take photos is part of recklessness.

I also wish you a happy birthday, and an 88th year full of health, hikes and photos.

(I suggest to use big candles for the decades, to avoid a cake overdose)
