Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted January 31, 2013 Hi Wanghan, We will be at Death Valley in March. This is an interesting image because of the blue - how is it that the ground is blue? Here's another version of the image, but I am still not happy with the color of the desert floor, which looks unnatural to me. Not to criticize, but what happened here? Best to you. alfbailey 3 Posted January 31, 2013 I love the very low level perspective here and the consequential network of ajoining patterns. I'm really not familiar with the area so I can't comment on the accuracy of colour or white balance settings, but the sky looks natural enough so maybe the cooler shades of the sand are a natural phenomena? Nice work Wanghan! Best Regards Alf Link to comment

stp 6 Posted February 3, 2013 Wanghan, I've never had the opportunity to photograph here before sunrise, and I can appreciate that this is going to pick up a lot of color from the sky, but I would not have expected a blue-green cast like this. Perhaps you have recorded it correctly, or perhaps it has been tweaked too far in one direction during processing -- I just don't know. I like your selection of a foreground, with the terminus of one of the polygons just above the lower edge; I think that composition works well. Link to comment

JamieK 1 Posted February 5, 2013 i think i would like a wider focal length. perhaps a higher vantage point. best, j Link to comment

llgarcia 1 Posted March 9, 2013 Having ben there myself, I could see that you opted to get nearer the mountain edge which is very nice. Also, the selected perspective emphasizes the beauty of the polygons and give this landscape an amazing scene. Best regards, Wanghan Link to comment
