Wanghan, I generally prefer this version because I like the slightly higher point of view (or so it seems; I can see the polygons further out) and because of the composition of the ridges in the immediate foreground.  I'll bet you could darken the shadows a bit simply by increasing the contrast of the salt flats.  I think I'd spend just a bit more time on this to make the flats a bit more dramatic, but without going overboard.  This is a view I've wanted to see for many years, but I haven't yet made it.  Nice work on a great trip.

I would concur with the previous comments. This one does seem to balance in terms of light and composition. The presence and location of the cloud (upper left) adds considerabley to the overall aesthetics.
