After my visit to the clinic this past Tuesday, we took a ride to the Swan river with a "different lens" to see what we could find......... you get those days when nothing is happening.. right?, its not just me.... is it?

These gulls are a dime a dozen along our seaboard but I was especially pleased with the clarity of the old 100-200 mm lens that I had not used in a long long time....... another good one to keep in my camera bag.

Your comments are always welcome..........

I was seated under a tree canopy with filtered light. These guys were flying in and out looking for food........ this one stopped for a moment.

There is something very military looking about this fine bird.  He is standing to attention and seems ready to bark out orders to his squadron (hidden from view) who will, at his command descend upon you and steal your sandwiches : - )

Very clear sharp image Grayham, and again you score with your "lens of the day"

Best Regards

Yes........ he did turn out quite well for the old lens I was using. I was quite taken with the sharpness here........ thanks for noticing.

Best regards.............

Your mental picture conjours up a "bun-fight" delux....................

Yes, my lens of the day worked quite well this time around......... the subject was pretty mundane........ but you takes wot you can get...right?

Hi Grayham,

Technically a delight. Using F/5.6 with your lens is ideal.

This beautiful bird capture is stunning.

Nice presentation my friend, Mike

Between you and Alf, my head gets so big it becomes an issue trying to get out the house (smiles).

Seriously though, I really appreciate your technical advice easing into my photography. For me, this was a pretty mundane "picture" that I posted cos I was bored........ your reference to the correct lens usage etc has caused me to step back and look again...... be careful in your recouperation that you don't get a little "down" as I do from time to time........ thanks for the shake up........

All good

Best regards
