Please view large. This was truly last fishing as Lake Minnetonka

iced over within the following two days. The image was taken about

4:00 P.M. I'm posting this image partly because it was taken with my

cell phone, iPhone 5 - no ad for Apple intended. I am pretty

impressed with cell phone quality here. As always, your comments

are much appreciated. Happy Holidays and New Year. Larry

Impressive quality from the iphone 5. I have the Samsung Galaxy 111 and the image quality on that too is surprisingly good.

I like the silhouetted landing stage and the fisherman figures, whilst the light is another nice element that adds to the atmosphere.

I would have given the subject a bit more canvas, and made them a larger proportion of the overall scene.  But alternatively you could also crop to portrait orientation.

Nice work Larry!

Best Wishes

Hi Larry. A great shot. Better with an iPhone than no picture at all. Overall I like the mood and colors. The framing is also very pleasing. Well done.

Wonderful tones and composition. It is a sunrise or sunset?  Beautiful and very well done.

Greetings

Alf,  Thanks for your visit.  I'm always interested in your take on my images.  I understand your view about making the fishermen more significant in the image.  Actually, I wasn't thinking about them or hardly noticing them when taking the shot.  It was late, my wife was inside a store I had to get back to, it was cold, and I was focused on the sunset.  I may try creating another version via cropping, but the image is pretty small.   Best to you.  Larry

Benjamin and Ramon,  Thanks for viewing this image.  It is a sunset, between 4 and 5 o'clock PM.  I appreciate both of your compliments.  I too am impressed with this little cell phone camera, my last resort for when I don't have another camera to use.  I agree with Alf and may try cropping the image.  Best to you both.  Larry

Excellent scene Larry! Looks like the iPhone 5 does quite a bit better than the iPhone 4 that I have. Excellent work.

Have a superb New Year,
Neil

Beautiful eye-catching softness. I didn't even see the fishermen, but that doesn't matter to me.  My eye is a little distracted by the light at the left top  part and wonder if that area really adds much to the image.  I tried looking at it with that part cropped out and then I can truly see the fishermen without distraction.  Gorgeous pallet.

Neil,   Thanks for viewing this image.  It's amazing what a cell phone camera will do, but I wouldn't expect to print any sizable image.  I enjoyed your recent B&W lake image.  Happy New Year.  Larry

Lynne,  Thanks for your visit.  I totally agree about the distracting light patch.  I have taken Alf's advice too and cropped the image.  Happy New Year.  Larry

Pat,   Thanks for your visit.  I enjoyed your street art, collage image with the bike as well as the candid portraits of the kids - all are quite powerful and artistic. We are bracing to stay warm for next week, brrrrrrr.  Happy winter.  Larry
