wolfgangarnold 142 Posted October 6, 2012 We were hiking along the main ridge of Soiern group (a mountian range north of Karwendel group in Bavaria. Weather was mixed with clouds covering the peaks most of the time. Link to comment

3m 0 Posted October 13, 2012 Very pretty, Wolfgang -- quite subtle, and very effectively composed... Love the darker textures below and the way you placed the misty peak in the frame... The whole, incl. your tonal range conveys something of a 19th century photograph.(PS: just noticed you got a D800 now -- nice! :-) Did you crop this at all..? Link to comment
wolfgangarnold 142 Posted October 13, 2012 Many thanks for your comments!@Jörg: indeed the cloudy weather did only seldom permit a view down into the valleys or towards neighbouring mountain slopes but on the other hand, the landscape had this otherwordly atmosphere. @Ruud: big thanks for your continuous support!@Marjolein: it's hardly cropped at all. And, you noticed correctly: since a couple of months I'm happy to own a D800 - an awesome (but also demanding) camera :-)cheers, Wolfgang Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted October 13, 2012 I really like the raw ruggedness of the terrain and the almost tangible sharp stones of the foreground. The composiiton invites the viewers eye to traverse the formidable slope to the misty peak. Very gritty and atmospheric scene!Nice work Wolfgang!Best Regards Alf Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 14, 2012 I like the "cut" you have done here from the clear lower part to the upper cloudy top, it gives a very nice atmospher, and still keeping the details! Really looks like stairs to heaven...! Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted October 27, 2012 This seems a visual quest, moving up from a clear and detailed place to a dim and hazy pinnacle with unknown things obscured by the fog. Link to comment
