Wayne Sadler 570 Posted September 17, 2012 I understand the statement that you can’t step in the same river twice. But I seem to be most keenly aware of the uniqueness of time and place when I look up. I remember experiencing this sky about a month ago but oddly forgot I recorded this image. I think it is a statement about our limited ability to record the grandeur of nature, that after recently discovering this file, it took some effort to associate it with my actual experience. Comments and critique welcome. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted September 18, 2012 Amazng capture Wayne. I have never seen a sky as dramatic as this and I'm not sure I'd want to. Sure looks like funnel clouds (at least attempting to form) in the distance (or perhaps water spouts??). It certainly makes me feel very 'small' and 'weak' in comparison. It even kind of makes me feel 'fearful'. This is one image I would NOT like to step into. That being said, I cannot say enough about how EXCELLENT it is. Very impressive, and I can understand just how you arrived at your Introductory comments. Well done! Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 570 Posted September 18, 2012 Thanks, Gail. I am taking my cue from you: sometimes it is good to state your understanding of an image, its relevance and meaning whether that meaning is universal or personal. Your comments are always helpful to me and others on PN. Link to comment

thadley 15 Posted October 16, 2012 A very powerful and dramatic image. Well done. I played with it using Photoshop Shadow/Highlight/Mid tone contrast command and it brought out a little more 'lightness and vibrance mostly to the bottom part of the image but then it started to diminish the drama of the original. For this reason I did not load it. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 570 Posted October 18, 2012 Thanks, Tony. When I worked on the bottom portion to bring out detail, I didn't like my results. Link to comment
maria 7 Posted February 25, 2014 unique, as the hole in the clouds is exactly above the tree! Link to comment
