Bill regardless of the rest, The Eyes are the center of attention on this amazing image! Original work of art with a wonderful expression. Warm regards my friend.

I have to ask myself, if this were my daughter, would I hang it on the wall?  My answer is "no."  If it were someone else's daughter, I wouldn't care.  But perhaps it's not meant to be a "standard" portrait and instead convey something else to the viewer.  Maybe it's a way to emphasize the importance of eyes, as if to say we initially meet people through their eyes, but I'm not sure.  It is different, but I've never been satisfied with being different just for the sake of being different -- I want it to be more than that.  Here, it's just not coming through for me.

Thanks Jorge . Stephen , I appreciate you taking the time to voice your thoughts . Some use Plugins to give an effect in the search to be different or to produce a particular effect . In this case the idea came from two different sources . In Pastel drawing the overall impression is sketched in before bringing out the details .  That's one idea , the other came from a steamed up window , where fingers wiped off condensation , in order to see out . I agree that I try to be different , partly due to boredom ! Like it or not , at least it provoked a response , so it has done it's job ! I am always gratefull for and enjoy reading any comments for or against ! Thanks again , Bill

I would hang something like this on the wall, for me its apiece of mordern art, I like the grey its neutral and bring the colours and eyes to life.

I like it. Great work.

Bestregards Tore

I really like the grey aspect of the image and indeed the steamed up mirror effect. It gives the impression of a pencil sketch and looks like a real piece of art.  The selective colouring around the eyes I don't find attractive, and although this has the effect of drawing attention to her eyes, I don't think its a good thing, that is purely from a personal, aesthetic viewpoint.  I think a more subtle colouration of just the eyes themselves would have had a similar magnetic attraction, and would have the benefit of avoiding what I would best describe as a vaguely juandiced look.

Best Regards

I like it Bill. It has a mix of High Key/texture art/and also Urban Feel for me. It is a look that is quite popoular, and if you read any of the Adobe teaching mags (NAAP) Adobe Pootoshop Creative - you see similar stylings there. I think you did a nice job of this artistic rendering. Lovely!

(PS  I know what you mean by being 'bored'. Sometimes I just get the 'creative urge' -  just have to do something different. It is often after these sessions, I have some renewed energy to get back to my less dig.alt. styles.

Nice work Bill, most sincerely, Gail
