Amazing sculpture open to interpretations.  I like that the youth establishes connection with the sculpted others as if in unity. Beautiful light

Hi Pnina! The child in the photo gives power and understanding to the sculpture...she/he is one among the others...well done! Regards.

Dear Pnina, I'm happy to meet you again and with a so nice shot: I remember very well this wonderful place, a great monument to the MAN!

Interesting shot and very interesting art I did not know about. The real child is very nice and clearly not really willing to join the crowd - understandable of course.

The arr work you portray here is quite disturbing to me. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting it, but it seems to me to speak to human squalor, the ever-present pursuit of domination and dominion. The innocent child not part of the sculpture is an interesting counterpoint. Very interesting image.

Ruud and Dave!

Dave, this is a snip from the internert about this wonderful art work that deals with human life. Their joys as well as sorrows .

"The Vigeland Park is the world's largest sculpture park made by a single artist, and is one of Norway's most popular tourist attractions. The park is open to visitors all year round.

The unique sculpture park is Gustav Vigeland's lifework with more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and wrought iron. Vigeland was also in charge of the design and architechtural layout of the park. The Vigeland Park was mainly completed between 1939 and 1949.

Most of the sculptures are placed in five units along an 850 meter long axis: The Main gate, the Bridge with the Children's playground, the Fountain, the Monolith plateau and the Wheel of Life."

I was very impressed being there, and please see and  read my explanation in this one,I understand your feelings about it ,and my dailogue with him was  about the birth of life in  his work combined with  mine...)( symbolised by the uterus..;-))

I like how the child joins the heap.  The blue against the gray stone is lovely.  It's great to be able to time travel and rediscover an amazing experience via photos.
