Marvin 4 Posted July 21, 2012 This Great Blue Heron returned to its nest and hungry chicks. It repeatedly attempted to regurgitate its large fish but couldn't get it out. The result left it bloodied and the chicks without their supper. Comments?? Link to comment
dzaebst 0 Posted July 21, 2012 Very nice image, Marvin. Nice sweet light, and a great story too. Perhaps that was fish blood (I hope)? Link to comment
philrichardson 6 Posted July 22, 2012 Very nice heron shot. Nice lighting and details throughout. I'm not used to seeing that coloring on the feathers. Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 477 Posted July 22, 2012 Dear Marvin for me this is a Purple heron ( Ardea Purpurea) rather than Great Blue Heron. It is a very nice image with an interesting story, ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
Marvin 4 Posted July 23, 2012 It doesn't look like the Purple Heron. And, I don't the that the Purple Heron is common in the USA. Link to comment
lcrump 0 Posted July 24, 2012 Hi Marvin, I always enjoy the story behind a shot. I hope all was well in the end for this beautiful Heron (whatever the color!) Great clarity and compositions. regards Louise Link to comment
