In his poem, "Fire and Ice," Robert Frost says that some people "believe

the world will end in fire, some in ice." He says, "from what I've tasted of

desire, I hold with those who favor fire" (may not be an exact quotation).

And, he admits..."but for destruction ice is also great and would suffice." I

wonder if Frost would have preferred ice had he been closer to some of

the earth's glaciers, such as this one - Fox Glacier in New Zealand. Your

comments are appreciated. Thanks. Larry

I tried using some online tutorial ideas about HDR images from PN.  I would appreciate your critique and comments on how to improve the HDR aspect of the image.   Thanks,  Larry

The texture and clarity in this shot are great. Colours too!

In reply to you question (which I forgot to answer before. Sorry!) I'm not a New Zealander. I'm actually English but have lived for almost 30 years in the Bahamas. However, my son married a kiwi and moved to Auckland and my three beautiful grand-daughters are also kiwis, having been born in Auckland. So over the years I have been a regular visitor to the country - until a couple of years ago when they moved to Melbourne. So now I am a regular visitor to Melbourne!

Pat,  Thanks for your compliment on this image.  You certainly have your travels cut out for you.  How nice.  I look forward to our continuing connection through our images.  Thanks.  Larry

Most unusual sight (for me, at least) and well captured, Larry. I'm not sure what HDR effects you applied but I like the outcome - not overdone but edgy.

Enjoyed the poetry too :)

Cheers ~

Alberta,  Thanks for your comment.  I appreciate knowing that this HDR looks natural.  Yes, it is edgy, an apt word.  Let ice be edgy.  As long as we are tranquil like your mourning doves, all is well.  Of course, I am kidding around.  I appreciate your iBooth photos on your PN page.  I am a Mac person, but have not tried the phone booth program.   Thanks again, Alberta.   Larry
