I really like the B & W's employed here the range is fantastic!  The rocks are superbly detailed and appear almost tangible in the larger view.  Just the right amount of water movement to create an element of drama.  My only tiny reservation is the that the taller rock column isn't visible all the way to the top.  But of course I realise this is probably impossible to achieve given its dimensions.  One possibility though is to crop the image vertically on the RH side to eliminate the percieved gap in the RH corner, this would then give a different impression of the remaining visible rock. Just an idea though, probably easier to show than describe.  Though I don't suggest that it is in any way better than the original

Best Regards

Alf, good point. I was looking at that angle meaning to crop where the gap of light is at the upper right portion of the image. I decided to leave is as is to give a hint where and at what level of the sun or light is coming from that would compliment the light falling on the smaller rocks.

I strongly consider your interpretation. Thanks a lot and nice to hear from you especially your opinion. Warm regards!

Les, I took several exposures at this area but I particularly liked this one as far as the timing of the wave hitting the rocks is concerned. The waves are more subtle and tamed.

Warm regards!

This is very well seen and your PP is spot on. I'm on the fence concerning Alf's crop, I like what he did but I also like the original and don't find it overly distracting but I see his point. Still on the fence!

Great image and toning.  I tend to prefer Alf's crop as my first thought when viewing the image was that I wanted to see the top of the rock outcrop and his crop solves that issue.

Impressive bw conversion which is very appropriate for this dramatic active scene. Also awesome details on the rocks. Very well done. Bravo.

I know I have seen this image or one taken by another of this very same place. The rocks here are so dramatic and impressive. You black and white is very pleasing to the eye. Use of light, ruch of the water yet softening of the waves as they splash agaist the rocks is all very lovely. The lighting is excellent. Alf made some good points as well, but I understand what you mean by showing where the light source was coming from. Well done Lester!

You must be pertaining to this photo I posted last April taken at the same time. It was the color version with a similar but slightly different composition.

Thanks for remembering. Regards!
