Not being seed eaters, they seldom stop by to visit us in the backyard. I think this one just needed a "breather".

The variety of bird life that you attract into your back yard is absolutely amazing. And this one is no exception, even if he did land just for a breather. You have captured this one beautifully, and I don't think you could ask for a better composition. The branch that the birds perched on curves from corner to corner and the bird is very obligingly looking into the shot. I think the birds head is also outlined really well against the leaf canopy. Some may suggest that you crop some of the right hand side to allow more focus on the bird itself, but personally I like the sense of space and light. Very well done Grayham!

Best Regards

Thank you so much for your very descriptive critique......... warms the cockles of the heart.

I'm always hopeful that the "newbies" to this science will realise that presentation forms a vital part of an image and that habitat becomes an  integral segment of that presetation as well. For me, the area to the right defines the habitat and where the subject is at........... Captured in-camera, I only darkened the bright spots of skylight and re-sized.

I always enjoy your visits

Best regards
