Statuesque Interaction

pmj

OK, everybody shoot me for bad street photography. No interaction with the person in the photo, telephoto lens right across the street, didn't even check aperture or shutter speed. Maybe just one point for decisive moment?Photoshop copy-and-paste of three consecutive shots. Just a tiny bit of cropping, levels and USM to make things pretty.

My parents and I visited Oslo, we walked past the statue and I thought

it might make a nice shot against the fountain. I grabbed my dad's

Coolpix because I had just finished and rewound the film in my own

camera, zoomed in, the woman appeared, stopped and looked, so I just

pressed the button at what I thought were good moments.

Nice catch? Or more along the lines of "Oh, yeah, well, tourist

looking at statue, next please" ?

Thank you for your time!

Cool. This is a fun triptych. The fountain in the background makes it. I like the middle figure. Certainly depicts a tourist. And the first and last photo showing the tourist peering off in the distance to see where she is going. I wish there was more detail in the figures, but I guess the light was not great at the time. It is well done for having the white of the water from the fountain in the background.

Interesting idea, but i'm not really a fan. Too dark i suppose (better lighting would be better)

Thanks everybody for their comments and ratings -- both are much appreciated. I do agree about the images being dark and lacking some detail. I guess that's punishment for point and shoot photography. I will add the middle picture, brightened a bit. There really is no detail in the left side of statue; strong light from the right and exposure for the highlights prevented that.

very interesting. so what if its the done touristy thing - its a good depiction. I think the tourist had a different impression of the person (statue) in her mind.. and thus the 're-checking' ;-)
