If someone where to ask me if the background made a huge amount of difference on a portrait shot, I would have said, no not really, but I would have been terribly wrong. This image proves beyond doubt the background has a major influence on the mood and dynamics of the image. The "outside" image in this case looking far superior. The sense of light, space and atmosphere is far more compelling. Thanks for allowing me to see both shots for comparison. Very well done Bill!
