Beautiful composition, dramatic light, amazing play of colors. I love the colour transition from yellow to greens to dark greens and blue. Very effective in capturing my attention.

This has a certain PIXAS quality. I know I have been conditioned by Nemo but that aside, there is a cartoonish element to this picture that appeals to me.

Gordon, the gradation of color from background to foreground is really beautiful. The orange and white of the fish stand out nicely from their surroundings. The circular framing of the foreground is very pleasing.

Great under water life surrounding. it is wondefully lighted, clear/sharp, interesting forms and color palette! very good work!

I read something you posted a while back about a new computer and/or PhotoShop and when I first viewed this masterpiece I was sure it was a Bowbrick Disney North creation.

There is absolutely no texture to be found in the anemones - in nature, not just your capture. That and the wonderful shading lend a comic book quality to this scene.

I'm completely jealous. I wish I could have seen this firsthand. And if I did manage to get there, I wish I could have waited for that perfect moment to get the composition and lighting so right - a Bowbrick hallmark.

Kudos!

Cheers ~

Thanks everyone for the comments they are most helpful.  This was taken with a G10 using a single strobe. I agree that it does have a somewhat cartoonist look which I believe has more to do with using a wide angle wet lens and shooting in macro mode than anything i did in post. The exaggerated perspective along with the fall off of light from the flash gives the odd sense of depth which we often associate with animation.
