tony,  truly a gorgeous image,  marvelous range of pinks, and the slash of green is like the star on top of the christmas tree.  i think i would prefer without the border,  leaves more for the imagination.  lovely lovely work!

Roger, your strong endorsement tells me that I may be on the right track with this one. Winter and the difficulty of keeping ones fingers bare to operate the camera controls leads to painful frozen fingers. This one was taken in a warm  greenhouse about a year ago. I am having a bit of fun going over old images that I had forgotten about.  Many thanks for your visit.  All the very best,

This one has such a dreamy atmosphere - IMO this is one of your bests in the series. The mild tone of green is the most crucial element that makes it so successful. I also like the curve - and the texture implied - Best regards.

I think its really difficult to come up with a special kind of flower image these days, after all, its a subject that is very popular and the competition is fierce. But I have to say, this one is special. And the style (although not the colours) reminds me of some of the work of Dror Baldinger another PN favourite of mine. It fully deserves the 7 I'm going apply.

Best Regards

Alf

Many thanks for your very kind comments and for ratings that are about as high as I have received in the last 12 months. I am sure i have lost my ability to assess aesthetics - I was not expecting this to do as well and this one http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=15552094 I was expecting to do much better than the '3's and '4's I got for it before pulling it from being rated.

Even though I have encouraged a few people to become more active or to rejoin PN in the last few weeks, I ask myself, if there is little in the way to show me how to improve my photography and since I have been relegated as an average point-and-shoot photographer, one needs to reverse, reflect, rejuvenate and then rejoin.

Sorting out my Canadian taxes before the April 30th deadline is now my priority so my participation here will be a bit less.

PS

Bela - It is gratifying that you found the image to be "Just Perfect".

Jayanti and Alf I am pleased that you both thought so well of this image to assign a "7'. Thanks again.

I'm glad to see your pictures again.

Lovely colours, including nice and smooth dof.
