richard_john_edwards 0 Posted January 29, 2012 Wolfgang, this is quite impresive, the scale of the trees is what jumps out at me. You have captured this really well. Best Regards Richard Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 30, 2012 This is a very touching forest composition. I like the trees form, the foggy winter light , the soft color palette and DOF. I feel like I'm walking in it. Very nice image, Wolfgang. Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted January 31, 2012 Oh Wow! this is a beauty! The scale and detail is just so very satisfying particularly in the larger view. The gradual subtle diminishing visibilty is very nicely communicated. I also like the gradual increase in density of trees from left to right and the gradation of light top to bottom. My only reservation is my desire for more foreground, something solid at the bottom, where I can plant my feet and just breath in the sheer beauty of the surroundings. But I guess choices had to be made, you can't have it all.Sincere ComplimentsAlf Link to comment
wolfgangarnold 142 Posted February 2, 2012 many thanks for your encouraging and insightful comments. @Alf: you've spotted the compromise I made quite well: the raw has more foreground but there was a scrub that was too "nervous" for this photo therefore I decided to crop it...Best regards, Wolfgang Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted February 5, 2012 You have some beautiful, misty light working well here which is enhanced by the lightening towards the top. What distracts me, and this is a style thing for me, is that the FG trees allow you to see past them. I would prefer to have them on the border of the frame with no gap. Link to comment
wolfgangarnold 142 Posted February 5, 2012 many thanks for your comment and proposal. My idea was to avoid that it 'feels' too constricted - but I see your point. Here's an adjusted version.Best regards, Wolfgang Link to comment
