Perhaps it was the overcast day or the way buildings on narrow streets

block sun rays that made this street in Florence, Italy feel bleak

requiring (I thought) some color enhancement and selective lighting.

The view is along via del Proconsolo (head dell’ Arts). At the end of the

street is the bell tower of the Borgello Palace once called Palazzo del

Popolo (Palace of the People). The Borgello, the oldest public building

in Florence, is said to have history also as a prison.

A very appealing composition capturing the dynamics of this urban environment.

The only suggestion would be to slightly increase its exposure in post editing - it appears a bit on the dark side.

Great shot regardless.

Thanks, Victor.  I admit "The Dark Side" has been appealing to me lately. Trying to use the dark to add mystery and the tension of wanting to know what is in the dark and shadow areas.

This image is very well done as well. I like the lighting. The tall buildings are bound to make some great areas shadowed during any time during the day.

Nice work!!!

Kind regards, Gail
