Wow, one of the most striking photographs I've seen in a long time.  The strong white of the geometric crosses are in such contrast with the graceful black form of the tree that arches over them -- it just really grabs and holds on to my attention and interest.  The low-angle composition and the light are just superb.  This is one for my favorites folder.

Very fine composition and great contrast ,

an Impressively expressive graveyard image that is very finely done.rated 6.

The stark expanse of the tree is magnificent, reaching nearly right across the scene against the grey moody sky, the contrasting white of the crosses are equally spectacular and the whole scene is very moving, very poignant.  Top Marks!

Lester,  I'm in agreement with Stephen on this as this is one of the most powerful images I have seen in a while.  The stark contrast - simplicity, low perspective and redundant symbols of death sheltered and embraced by life is poignant and touching with its simple message - thanks for the insight.  I'm giving it a 7.

Lester, this is very dramatic, it's emotional power really grabs the viewer. It is beautifully composed and your editing was very skillfully done. A wonderful concept.

As we remember, honor and commemorate the faithful dead we recall those who died for a cause and those who died for us. This image was taken at the American Cemetery and Memorial in the Philippines. where some 17,000 or more men who served during World War II are buried.

To Ruud, Stephen, Saad, Harry, Art, Alf, Sam, Linda, Mumtaz, George & Debra,

Thank you for your precious comments for this symbolic image.

Warm regards,  - Lester

Hi Lester,

A very well done image.

An excellent presentation.

Yes, it is important to remember our family and friends that have gone on. Their life experiences and wisdom has and will influence our stay everyday forward.

Best Regards,  Mike

Lester,  The contrasts of the crosses and the tree are very nice—the light/dark, the graphic/organic. The structure of the tree is really beautiful, with the grey sky providing a nice background for the white and the black.
