this is two pictures unconnected in the presentation. the two people on left frame should be presented only together from an angle where we can see more of their front so that we know what brings them together. the guys on right frame are together; we don't need to see their work pants and boots to see their togetherness; they can be cropped below the table and above the sign with their torsos in scene, and with an angle closer-up and angled to see how their facial expression unite them, even if it is just their eating together. as is, we cannot feel their togetherness because only one man's face stands out alone and too much into the camera, without the others' faces. regards, dp

Very nicely framed the ''togetherness''.Nicely exposed with a great B&W finish(as always).

My best regards.

Nice, realistic "street photo" of a scene many of us "see" everyday but never really look at! B&W of course is the right choice for this shot. I just wish I knew what they were talking about. Draws my interest, and that is the purpose of all this. Nice work!

Bill, Eystein, Jeff, Donna, Kallol, Warren, and Janusz:

many thanks for your visits, comments and nice compliments!

Donna: wrong title, perhaps?!

With best regards,

Ruud.

but not up to your usual standard, I think.  the angle on the group seems very well chosen, but the other guy doesn't work compositionally for me.  best, jamie

I'm inclined to agree with Donna , two pictures for the price of one ! The chap looking at the camera makes a focus point , my eye goes straight to him . It's still a good example of your environment though . Bill

Hi Ruud,

I like this candid of the group of men.

It is not always easy to shoot a crowd without having at least one person recognize that you are pointing a camera toward them.

That is one reason I like the long telephoto, same results without any discovery on the subjects part.

Another technique that I use is to pre-focus my lens (many of them manual), keep it out of sight and when the time is right , aim and shoot. When I hang out in crowds, I like to blend in to the point that people around me forget that I was there.

Best Regards,  Mike

I don't know, so many comments, but to me it is what it is, a group of fellows chatting over lunch or a snack (a break from work), one fellow just happened to notice you taking the shot, no big deal for me. Somehow it added a little interest for me.

Nice work Ruud,

sincerely, Gail
