Had to wait a while for the right light and the throngs of tourists to

depart, to make this image. Critiques/comments/feedback kindly

appreciated. View larger for better viewing, thanks for looking!

Same motif, same comment, wonderful, this time much closer buildings! Same wonderful array of rather mild B&W tones! Congratulations Raghuveer!

Best regards!

Excellent. I hope you have more images from this place, being there myself, very long time ago. Not to lucky, to avoid all those tourist and in a rainy day, with lots of low clouds passing by, covering partially the area here and there.

Thank you for posting this image.

Cheers.

As a history teacher and photographer I find this photograph to be interesting from the vantage point of both discplines.

The fact that you captured this with no tourists in it really pleases me from a historical standpoint. There is something about seeing this site in a pristine state that makes it more powerful.

As a photographer I must say that b&w is perfect for this location. The surrounding mountains, the contrast, the texture it is all very pleasing to the eye.

Very nice photograph.

Thanks all, for your kind comments!

Bela & Joseph: Most tourists visit Machu Picchu as a day-trip from Cusco and usually leave in the afternoon. The place becomes very tranquil with only a few people around. I spent an entire day there and luckily, the clouds opened up in the late afternoon and the light was magical.

magnificent iconic scene and beautiful tones. I also like the 'early/late' light and long shadows.  Simply beautiful and I would rate highly.
