Grand Canyon Haze at Sunrise

Fires in the vicinity had completely filled the Grand Canyon with smoke.

The sunrise provided some interesting colors and forms, but when the sun

rose there was essentially nothing to see -- no detail at all in this area

known for its magnificent layers of rock.

Very beautiful and evocative capture, Stephen. Good composition, nice colours, and the smoke does indeed lend a certain mystery to the image. Just goes to show, that being at the right place at the right time can get you beautiful and unique images. Well done :-)

The layers are particularly well defined and the light source seems to create waves of colour and light that continue through  the image. The composition is perfect, and the final band of warm colour adds the final touch to this exceptional landscape.

nice exposure and the layers perfect composed, an outstanding image. at this size, even if i open the big version i can see some noise or grain where supposed to be smooth textures. maybe it is from the compression, the original image is probably convincing. best regards.

Incredible layers and colors contrast between blue tones and red-orange sky,larger view looks so good,make me feel so good looking this immensity,this free space,compliments.
