pnital 36 Posted September 21, 2011 I like the concentration on his face, well seem. His hands as well, through his delicate work.Very nice composition and light. The solid BG (and his shirt color) is nice, as there is nothing to disturbe the presentation of his complicated work to the viewer.. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 21, 2011 Nothing bothering me here, as a photograph, this is very appealing and present the hobby of such ship building in a remarkable manner, your lighting is superb and of very high quality, the details obtained are so fine, the man expression indicate his seriousness in his job which give this work the original atmosphere and enhances its composition.Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best. tsr 0 Posted September 26, 2011 Excellent capture of the gentleman intent on restoring the model ship. The way he is going about this shows his confidence and knowledge on the subject. Most probably the letter "B" inscribed on his shirt could mean an association with a club or that he is an ex- navy person. This is just my opinion. Best regards,TSR Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted October 2, 2011 I can't suggest a way to 'improve' this beautiful environmental portrait. I think you've hit the sweet spot here. You've composed the ship and builder\artist in a most excellent way by placing the man's head mostly between the masts where the largest gap exists. I especially like your low camera angle. His concentration and apparent expertise have been expertly captured and the light (window light I expect) is perfect for revealing the details throughout. My bet is that he'd appreciate a print of this one. My only negative thought, and it's not a deal breaker, is the pattern of the background which could be considered to be in competition with the lines of rigging on the ship. There, I've found a way to 'improve' it. :-) Best, LM. Link to comment
