This is nicely composed and sharp.  The broccoli looks very enticing!

Please stop by my 2011 folder and my Hurricane Irene folder.  I've added quite a few to my portfolio.  :O)

A little secret.  This was shot from the hip on the way past this vendor.  The composition is in the crop.  I still feel awkward with street shots so a clandestine approach is more comfortable for me though I'm sure, with all the tourists around taking pictures, these guys are probably used to it.  Be over to visit your folder soon.  Best, LM.

I hope you are Good

Len.. I suggest RGB title for this capture, the colors from ( T shirt, broccoli and the hat ). Amazing composition and a very expressive vendor's face.

You are very observant.  I hadn't even noticed the RBG connection but you are quite right.  Perhaps, at a subconscious level, that's why I prefer this one to the B&W version I tried.  The vendor is focused, I think, on keeping the broccoli from tumbling onto the ground in front of the booth.  Thanks for your insight.  Best, LM.

The hand of the farmer connect the complementary colors( red/green) ,this  is in the FG, the BG has the same hints of green and red...I like the diagonal form of his placement on the frame and the cold blue of his hat, Really a painter palette...of basic colors. Well observed with a good timing!

Thanks for your observations on this one.  There is no end to photo opportunities at an open air market and I thought I would avail myself of this one.  The 'timing' was in waiting until he had control of the rolling head of broccoli to take the image.  Luckily he was on the shady side of the isle, so, no high contrast to deal with.  Great place for 'street' shots.  Best, LM.

Well......I'm impressed ...you shoot from the hip and still manage to get it straight........I use tripods, virtual horizons and squint through the viewfinder for agonising moments before taking an image that still refuses to be level.

Of course you may have cropped it after : - )

I love the intense expression of concentration from the vendor, its like stacking broccoli is the most important task in the world to him, and maybe it is. The hip shot produces an interesting perspective here, it kind of reminds me of the view a child would see. Nicely done Len I like it.

Best Regards

Alf

My motto is "Luck is Good!".  :-)   Problems with leveling? Yah, me too.  Tripod or hip, same result.  I even have a bubble level.  (perhaps I should use it once in a while)  Good observation, this is what it probably looked like to my 5 yr. old grandson who accompanied me that day.  Normal viewpoint for him.  It was indeed cropped later, no choice.  As for the vendor, if he doesn't care about his goods, then who?  Thanks for taking the time.  Best, LM.
