Perfect timing and a great image.  Bravo!

I can see that you tried to capture this hungry bird during his/her attempt. Although your camera was fast enough to capture that moment, but unfortunately your PS work was not very good as I see a blue color patch of around his/her beak which is completely different from the rest of blure color of the sorrounding water!

Never seen a capture like this,what a moment!!,concerning blue spot I think was the water reflection and as you said the shadow increase this,you set easy this,what is unique is the moment caught,best regards.

Unusual and well presented.  This bird doesn't get much attention.

Extremely nice capture. Perfect timing and composition. Agree with prior post - the shadow side of the bird is confusing as it blends into the background. The angle also make it look like motion blur from the bill, or sloppy post work even though it's not. I'm not sure how I'd approach minimizing th effect, would have to play with it.  A little background separation might be all it needs.
