Pierre Dumas 286 Posted July 19, 2011 My first digital goes to antiquities, he hasn't retired, no sir! Heworked five years and he's able to work at least ten more with thesame battery, but I just wanted to emphasize the fast growth of thedigital technology and express my gratitude and respect to the camerawhich made me do a lot of artworks! The photo was taken with a smallunknown relatively new camera which costs $69 only! The blending oflayers hides the real quality of the picture which is razor sharp andlarge ten Mp!Thank you for your attention dear colleagues!PDE Link to comment

michaellinder 16,613 Posted July 19, 2011 What a striking commentary on planned obsolescence! It's wonderful to buy a product only to find out shortly thereafter that it's been replaced by a newer product. The texture is perfect for this photograph. Great angle. My best - always, michael Link to comment

gsaphoto 2 Posted July 19, 2011 Technology in our days evolve fast and rapidly. Five years old electronic products become absolute after 5-6 years. After 10 years it already dinosaurs age. Perfect match with particular work! Link to comment

alfbailey 3 Posted July 19, 2011 When I seen the title "The Old Work Horse" I was expecting a self portrait : - ) lol Just kiddinTechnology moves at an ever increasing pace, todays technology was yesterdays science fiction, but some things don't get better, and sometimes quality suffers in the rush to produce "the new improved version"I love the treatment you have applied here Pierre it adds to the aged look that in turn provokes thought about our consumer mad world.Best RegardsAlf Link to comment
jlcordova 0 Posted July 20, 2011 Hi Pierre,This is so cool. I am a SONY man myself. I love the texture you created. By the way, thanks for your comments on my pictures. I really appreciate them.Take care,Jose Luis Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted July 20, 2011 i think you are too protective of it, though. to me, it sits on top of the paper instead of seeming to have been aged with the paper. i would leave more paper texture. still fantastic, though. i love the window for the optical viewfinder. those are rare now. best, jamie Link to comment

fstaples 0 Posted July 21, 2011 Great post-processing. Your layer work is art on it's own. And, as a Sony fan, great subject choice! Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
