kombizz 15 Posted June 16, 2011 I saw this white metal door on Valinejad Street near to the famous Daryani Hospital. It was covered with hundreds of adverts, someone who is prepared to sell one of his/her kidneys is posted on this door. It says the blood type and the phone number of the seller.Iran is one the countries where the sale of human kidneys is legal and supported by the government. Once every ten minutes, a young person takes advantage of the practice by walking into an official kidney referral agency. I called one of the phone numbers and asked for the selling price. Apparently the price of kidney is around 80,000,000 Rials to 100,000,000 Rials. For your information the exchange rate is (for today) 13,000 Rials = $1.00 Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted June 17, 2011 Its a sobering thought that people are willing to sell thier own body parts, it speaks of a desperation that is almost unfathomable to many, me included. Your image conveys the message with a harsh grittiness that pulls no punches and tells the stroy as it is.Very well done Kombizz.RegardsAlf Link to comment

drkallol 0 Posted June 21, 2011 Though I could not read out those words except some phone nos but your brief description has made me curious to know where is this ''market of human parts" & is it approved by the Govt. Thanks for sharing this storyteller. My best regards.Kallol Link to comment
mauroni 0 Posted June 22, 2011 This is a very interesting picture. Better: this is the most interesting use of pictures! The picture itself, and I think that anyone can agree, is trivial, but what we learn by this picture is frightfully upsetting. If I weren't an atheist I would pray for this poor Nation.Thank-you for this, Kombizz. Mauro Link to comment
