Caledonia 0 Posted June 15, 2011 One of my favourite photo spots in gritty and mean mood,a very typical day in the Highlands Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted June 16, 2011 It is indeed a great subject and a classic view. The B & W is becoming for the low cloud, and I like the chosen shutter speed for the water. When I visited this spot last autumn the stream was an absolute torrent. It never occurred to me to convert the shots I took to B & W .......hmmm worth a thought. Did you use any HDR processing here, the sky looks a bit heavy?Very well done Douglas, it conveys the mood superbly.Best RegardsAlf Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 266 Posted June 16, 2011 The richness of the B&W tones does it mostly, of course, there are interesting and beautiful elements of the composition too!Best regards Douglas!PDE Link to comment
stp 6 Posted June 16, 2011 This is a very strong image and depicts very well the mean, gritty mood you described. It does have an HDR look to it, but perhaps that's just the result of local contrast adjustments. B&W allows us to concentrate just on the forms, and they are very dramatic. Very nicely done. tonyazzopardi 0 Posted June 16, 2011 Superb B & W landscape. Love the wide-angle perspective and low angle of view. Well done. Link to comment
marcelor 0 Posted April 15, 2012 This is an excellent monochrome image, where the texture of the many natural elements is almost palpable.I especially like the dark clouds and the rock in the foreground. Link to comment
