This is a macro of a Tamarack Tree branch with new Growth and an old

pine cone from last years cycle.

You've captured the essense of the season with one elegantly simple shot.  The dof works perfectly in this image - I tried something like this but ended up with too much background distraction. Your shot workes perfectly.
