marc_dilley1 0 Posted April 3, 2011 I posted this one last year but wasn't quite happy so reworked itright from the Raw files then redid the blend and work in CS5. Thanks in advance for a comment or critique. Link to comment
alfbailey 2 Posted April 3, 2011 I can see that it woulld have been a challenging image to work on. The extremes of light and dark area's, from silhouette to bright illumination are now perfectly exposed. I do like the movement of the water also. There is a small patch that doesn't look quite right, if you look at the most central large rock, just to it's left is a patch of lighter water that looks at odds with its neighbouring water. I'm sure that it is in fact natural, as I know how meticulous you are when processing, but I thought I'd mention it as it kind of stood out. Suffice to say, I enjoyed viewing it immensely.RegardsAlf Link to comment
marc_dilley1 0 Posted April 4, 2011 Thanks for the careful scrutiny, Alf. I see what you mean: the water is lighter because it is glassy. It does look odd, but it is, I believe, purely an effect of river water physics. The surface of the river in that area has less turbulence because it is downstream from the large boulder, so there is sort of an eddy effect happening on either side of the boulder. All the Raw files display the same sheen on the water, so I'm pretty sure it's not pilot error this time. rms1 0 Posted April 22, 2011 I appreciate the patience behind this image Mark. Waiting till the last second for the perfect shot. Love everything about it. I find as the sun tucks behind the ledge it cuts the image in half. One, hard/powerful with the dark clouds, large jagged rocks and fast turbulent water. The other soft/peaceful with nicely lit warm trees, blue skies and white fluffy clouds. Thanks for sharing. Rgds, Raf Link to comment
w-j-li 0 Posted August 31, 2011 Very nice. Beautiful composition. Sharp and clear with the powerful foreground. Link to comment
