The young fellow and my Significant Other are observing sand dunes

being created in this interactive exhibit at the Chabot Space and

Science Museum.

I'm not happy about the partial figure in the background, but he

showed no signs of moving, and it was take the picture or lose the

moment.

This photo is best viewed in large format, which is how I uploaded it.

Really nice job with the flash. The tonal range/contrast in this shot is absolutely beautiful, and it's nice & sharp. I need to try this film...

Yes, you were right in not waiting. I think the Chabot Museum is a great place to capture moments like this. I attach another from the same room, though not as well done as yours.

It is a picture with great possibilities. I think a thighter crop around the faces and the reflections could pronounce the concentration of the moment. Sorry I messed around with the photo, but I think it reflects much easier where I need a lot of words for to write.

I like the picture - understand your frustration with the distraction in back. I too thought a crop would strengthen picture a lot. The oval element and reflection seem key, so I would keep the landscape orientation. The boy is important (not to diminish your SO - but she is more the observer of the scene). I would crop on a vertical line slightly to left of the oval - and a horizontal line above your SO's ear - elminating the distraction. This serves to move the boy to a strong third line. FOr what it's worth. Good eye for a good picture.

The collaborative exploration is presented well.

I like how this works in B&W, especially in the contrasts in the lighter coat and the darker top.

Nicely done.
