An intriguing capture, David -- I wonder who put this up...?  A Bike Gate indeed & it seems  quite artistically made. However, it does give me a slight feeling of arachnophobia for some reason... I like your slightly upward angle for this one.

You really have an eye for all the  oddities  of human mind....;-))The form, the placment of   the gate? it looks a "wall"   not a gate...still as Marjolein wrote, it has an artistic flavor. You never stop to amaze your  viewers

this is fascinating.  I biked quite a lot and appreciate bikes.  How sturdy was the gate?  My only "suggestion" would be to use DoF to blur the background. Cheers, Micheal

yes, it is funky... and ingenious... with the chain in place there can be no doubt: it is a gate... another unique find!
