Really good filling of the frame, everything is nicely composed. And there is just a bit of movement thanks of the feet of the horses!

beautiful perspective... the men and the horses virtually pop... a vibrant, and grand, steroscope

Childhood dreams epitomised in this image! It's all I ever wanted to be a cowboy, from an early age I'd set out in the mornings with my two guns in my holsters, and inevitably throughout the day I'd be responsible for several gunfights, a stage coach robbery (the milkman and his delivery vehicle) and of course defending my fort (garden gate) against suprise indian attacks. : - )  I love everything about this shot, (Except the baseball caps, stetsons should be compulsory wear when riding horses)  lol. But seriously it's an excellent image, sharp and well defined, and the rolling hills faded into the backround reinforce the authentic feel. Very well done Linda!

Best Regards

Alf

Vincenzo, thank  you. I am glad you like it.

Rajat, it’s good to hear your thoughts.

Julio, thanks so much!

Alf, your childhood dream is similar to mine. I wanted to be a First Nations girl (Indian). My parents took us camping most summers in Algonquin Park, in Northern Ontario, and I was able to act out my fantasy quite a bit by building teepees, weaving grass mats and fishing.

Grigoriy, thanks for stopping by, it’s good to hear from you.

Ricardo, thank you!

Great shot Linda....colorful and perfectly framed. I like how their attention is all on something off to their right. Must be the fourth rider. Looks like fun too.

Community spirit-- the horses with themselves ,the men...  Who are they?  What are the coverings on the horses's feet?  Lovely composition.   Beautiful colors.  This is a dream

Thank you all for commenting.

Fred, they were giving another inexperienced rider dirty looks because they disapproved of  the way he was handling his horse.

Donna, those coverings on their feet are protective footwear.

Linh, thank you, it is good to hear from you.

Love it.  A photo like this sure does reflect the dreams of many of us as kids.....as Alf Bailey commented, our imaginary gunfights, bank hold ups and chasing down the outlaws on horseback was a natural part of our Saturday mornings.  We all wanted to be the sheriff  or the "newcomer" who saved the day.  lol  See what you started with a simple photo ! Thanks

When viewed large Linda, your DOF is exceptional, the image almost 3D in appearance.  Wonderful detail and definition, great color, I think it is among your best, among my favorites within moments!!  Congrats on your excellent in camera and P/p skills.  They have truly paid off in this composition.  My sincere respects, Gail

Thank you all!

Mehmet, nice to hear your thoughts on this one.

Ruud, good to hear from you.

John, that last horse was just getting some exercise.

Gallego, thank you, it is good to hear from you.

John, this sure has brought back memories of romantic childhood dreams for people. I grew up in the smog and concrete of a big city and I don’t think I will ever get over the beauty of the western landscape and the people who are lucky enough to be living the western lifestyle. People who were born and grew up here don’t realize how romantic and exciting  their lives seem to eastern city folk.

Keith, thanks for that.

MJ, so, you are familiar with American Western Art, that’s interesting. Australia has a Wild West history to rival the North America’s. I read the “True History of the Kelly Gang” by Peter Carey a few years ago. It was as good as it gets as far as “Western” genre goes.

Miguel, gracias. It is good to hear your thoughts

Gail, thank you for the encouragement. I am honored to have my photo among your favorites. That is quite a compliment.

Holger, you are very kind. I appreciate your comments.

You are all very kind and generous.

Best wishes,

Linda

Wonderful cowboy picture, technically great, with great colors and details, well composed also! But I can suggest you something: The color of the frames may be done the same as the color of the page on which it is exposed here and since you have done shadow it will look as hovering above the page! But without stroke!

Cheers Linda!
